Soup-a-Bowl - Fundraiser to Support Food Share Program
September 13th, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., public is invited to a gigantic soup luncheon at the Mid-Hudson Children's Museum Pavilion, situated just north of Poughkeepsie's waterfront Waryas Park. Sample delicious homemade soups from noteworthy Hudson Valley restaurants including Artist's Palate, Soul Dog, Twisted Soul and Silver Spoon, as well as a delicious gazpacho from a Vassar College chef, while raising money for Food Share, a Poughkeepsie Farm Project (PFP) program that provides low-income families with tons of fresh food each year. Adding to the fun will be a live musical performance from Hudson Valley resident and Jen Clapp.
The meal will feature beautiful handmade pottery bowls from local artists, which participants will be able to take home after the event. Tickets are $20 if purchased in August, or $25 if purchased in September, and entitle each person to one bowl and the tasting of two soups. Harvest Dinner and Barn Dance at
Veritas Farms hosts a Farm to Table Dinner, Sunday, September 28th. Ryan Orkus, instructor from French Culinary Institute, will prepare a feast using the farm's fine meats and produce; accompanied with local wine. Space is limited. $50 per person $85 per couple.
